Parking in Wilmslow has been an emotive topic for a number of years. The increase in parking along major arterial roads through the town and in residential streets and the supply of long stay parking spaces in the town Car Parks has perhaps been the most frequently raised matter at Town Council meetings over the past two years.
The Town Centre Car Parks are owned by Cheshire East Council who also have responsibility for highway matters in the town including the introduction of any parking regulations and the enforcement.
Following a parking survey carried out in the Autumn, Cheshire East Council are now consulting on their findings and proposals.
A public session will be held at the Meeting Rooms at The United Reformed Church, Chapel Lane from 6pm -8pm Wednesday 13 February and the public are encouraged to call in during that time to visit the exhibition and to talk with Cheshire East Council Highway Officers. A second meeting ( a repeat of the first meeting) will take place at the same location and time on Wednesday 6 March.
